  • Is the plastic bottle recyclable?
  • We use two types of plastic for our juices. The majority of our bottles are made of polyethylene tetrapthalate (PET), which has a recycling code of #1. This clear plastic is also used to make 2-liter soda bottles and is widely accepted by recyclers. We also use PET for our 10 oz Pure Premium juices, but it is colored white. It also contains a recycling symbol of #1. The second type of plastic we use is predominantly a high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which is combined with a very thin layer of nylon that prevents oxygen penetration and deterioration of the juice. Although HDPE carries a recycling number of #2, we must label it as #7 for "layered" packages. Since the nylon does not interfere with its recyclability, we highlight its #2 compatibility. Our HDPE packages are white in color and are used for our 96 and 128 oz Pure Premium juices.
  • Are the cartons recyclable?
  • Yes, for the most part. The carton's paper fiber has a high market value and can be recycled. The fitment and cap come in direct contact with the juice, so they are not made with recycled material. Those parts are removed during the recycling process.
  • Can I freeze the plastic bottle & carton?
  • Our packages were not designed with freezer storage in mind. Expansion occurs during freezing and this can damage the container, resulting in juice leakage and exposure to air. This will cause the juice to lose flavor and nutrients.
