  • How many oranges does it take to make a glass of juice?
  • It takes three to four medium sized oranges to make an eight-ounce
    glass of orange juice.
  • How many grapefruit does it take to make a glass of juice?
  • It takes two to three grapefruit to make an eight-ounce glass of grapefruit juice.
  • Do you add sugar to your Pure Premium?
  • No, Pure Premium is 100% juice. The naturally sweet flavor comes from picking the oranges at their optimum time for squeezing.
  • Why does Tropicana® Orange Juice contain sodium while Tropicana Pure Premium® does not?
  • Pure Premium orange juice is made from fresh oranges, not from concentrate and is sodium free naturally. All from-concentrate juice products will contain some sodium that comes from the water added to reconstitute the juice. The concentrate does not contain sodium, but the water does.
  • How much calcium does Tropicana Pure Premium® with Calcium orange juice provide?
  • One serving provides 350 milligrams of calcium - as much calcium as a glass of milk. Tropicana® uses FruitCal, a highly absorbable form of calcium and a proprietary calcium source, in its fortified juices. FruitCal in no way changes the flavor of the juice.
  • Are your juices pasteurized?
  • Yes, all Tropicana juices are pasteurized.
  • What does pasteurization do?
  • Pasteurization is a heat treatment that inactivates the naturally occurring enzymes and bacteria that would otherwise contribute to the rapid deterioration of the juice.
  • Does pasteurization affect the vitamins and nutrients?
  • Pasteurization does not destroy the nutrients in juice. Pasteurization protects the quality and taste of the juice. The vitamin and nutrient contents shown on the package reflect the minimum levels you can expect at the expiration date.
  • Why is there less vitamin C per serving in smaller cartons than in larger ones?
  • Over time, vitamin C degrades in the presence of oxygen. Although all of our packages are designed to minimize exposure to oxygen and maximize the retention of vitamins, smaller cartons allow quicker oxidation of the product, so the vitamin C content in small packages is less than the level in 64-ounce cartons.
  • What is FruitCal®?
  • FruitCal® is the type of calcium used in Tropicana Pure Premium® products (calcium citrate malate). Studies show that FruitCal®:
  • Provides a more absorbable type of calcium than calcium carbonate supplements (the most popular calcium supplements)
  • Helps builds strong bones in children and adolescents
  • Helps maintain bone mass in adult women
  • Can juice be used past the expiration date?
  • All juice and juice beverages have a limited shelf life, regardless of if they are a product found in the refrigerated case or on store shelves. We suggest you use them by the "Best if Used By" date found on the package to ensure optimum flavor and nutrition.
  • How long can juice be left unfrigerated?
  • Chilled juices should be kept constantly refrigerated or they will spoil. We do not recommend using chilled juices that have been left unfrigerated more than three hours.
  • Do I have to refrigerate juice in bottles before opening?
  • Some of our products require constant refrigeration, while others do not. Please check the label for instructions.
  • Can I reuse the plastic Bottle?
  • Our bottles were designed for one-time use. We do not recommend that the bottle be refilled with liquid for human consumption, as it is difficult to maintain sterility. Bacteria from your mouth or unwashed hands can contaminate used drinking bottles. Also, food packages should never be reused to store harmful chemicals, as young children may recognize the package and attempt to consume what is in it.
